പല ഘട്ടങ്ങളിലായി നിരവധി ജനകീയ മുന്നേറ്റങ്ങള്‍ ലാലൂരില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്. സ്ത്രീകളും കുട്ടികളും അടക്കമുള്ള നിരവധി ആളുകള്‍ നിരന്തരം ലാലൂരിലെ സമരങ്ങളില്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്നു. ലാലൂരിലെത്തുന്ന മാലിന്യ വണ്ടികള്‍ തടയുന്നു, പിക്കറ്റിങ്ങുകള്‍ തുടങ്ങി പല സമരങ്ങളും നടത്തി. അനവധി കേസ്സുകള്‍ നടന്നു. അങ്ങനെ വലിയൊരു ചരിത്രമുണ്ട് ഈ സമരത്തിന്. ചില സമയങ്ങളില്‍ അത് വളരെയധികം ജനകീയമായി ഉയര്‍ന്ന് വരികയും പരിഹാരങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നീങ്ങാറുമുണ്ട്. ഈ സമയങ്ങളില്‍ നഗരസഭ അവിടെ കുറച്ച് കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്യും. പിന്നെ അത് നിര്‍ത്തും. അപ്പൊ വീണ്ടും സമരം വരും, വീണ്ടും കുറച്ച് കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്യും. അങ്ങനെ ഇത് തുടര്‍ച്ചയായി ആവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു വരുന്നു.
